S.O.S

How exciting was it last night!!!! X-Factor winner - Leon!!!! Eh??? No way!!!! Not that I liked either of the other two but really, there's no way he was the best singer of the series. I've never liked Rhydian but he was obviously the best singer of the whole show.

So much for being back to HS:MS........I've been very busy making a Star Book to give to Ollie's class teacher for Christmas. We found it quite hard to design layouts without having a photo as we could overlay photo's with embelishments etc. I'm going to send a little note with it to explain about how to open it up & display it. I think it will look brilliant once all the white pieces of card have been replaced with photo's, especially if they are black & white.

Here are the front cover, pages & back cover...

The photo sizes don't really look 'right' - each of the pages above is actually 2 facing pages. As soon as it's light enough we'll take a picture of it all assembled. I'm very pleased with it for a first attempt - even if I do say so myself!!!!

I have a complete uninterrupted (except for the school run) day tommorow, my last before Christmas!, so will look forward to checking out lots of HS:MS blogs.
Have a lovely Sunday all - we're off to a panto.

Christmas

Gosh I can hardly believe it's 6 months since I first participated in HS:MS!!!!

I found it, loved it, joined it & then after only a week I got a bit bogged down (not blogged unfortunately) by family occasions, illnesses, school holidays, life etc & I've not done a post since!

I do check out the daily prompts, and for a while I did take a few pics but just didn't get round to uploading, putting text on & actually posting them on my blog. I do look at some of the other HSMS bloggers too!

So here I am attempting to re-join, possibly not the best time of year with all the pre-christmas stress going on - but here goes anyway....

Plug

Something to block a hole or a device to make an electrical connection.

Two plugs from me today: the first a wonderful sight as it was the signal that I'd finally reached the end of an absolutely huge pile of ironing and the second my lifeline: the mobile phone charger!

Cheese

A food made of milk curds.

All this blogging is definately making me hungry....there is a definate theme building this week....fruit, bread, cheese!

I've never really liked cottage cheese but I'm going to give it a try again!

Furry

Something that is covered in fur or has a fur like appearance.

Ahhh, my Harrods bear.
There is a little story to go with this one.....on our first Christmas together my other half got me a cuddly bear from, all very cute & I loved him. The next year he got me a different one and over the years I got one every Christmas from all different department stores as they design a different one each year. It became a sort of tradition. They are all about the same size - 12 inches tallish and half as wide so quite big!

One of the best was the year our first baby arrived, it was a matching Mummy & Baby bear from M&S - absolutely perfect!

As the collection grew to 8 or 9 I wondered where they would all live (the top of our pine wardrobe was almost full) so he decided the 10th would be the last. So last Christmas an extra special bear arrived from Harrods!

Bread

A simple food of brown or white colour.

Not quite as appetising to look at as some of the other bread posts but it still tastes quite nice & will definately help the weigh in come Sunday. I just wish I could photograph a delicious crusty baguette (and eat it!!!)

Basket

A woven container.

A basket for teddies, teletubbies & toys.....something we have a lot of here!
